摘要：A system for determining a source of an Internet protocol (IP) packet (1),comprises a content addressable memory (148) and a network processor (142). The

content addressable memory (148) comprises a table group (332), the table group (332)further comprising a source address cell (262), a destination address cell (272), a sourceport cell (282), a destination port cell (292), a flag cell (312), and an instruction set. Thenetwork processor (142) is configured to execute the instruction set, which directs thenetwork processor (142) to compare information extracted from a header (162) of areceived IP packet (1) with respective information stored in the source address (262),destination address (272), source port (282), and destination port (292) cells of the tablegroup (332), and to assign a first weight value and a translation address (322) to the tablegroup (332) when the source address cell (262) and the source port cell (272) compriseuniversal bits and a second weight value different from the first weight value when thesource address cell (262) and the source port cell (272) do not comprise universal bits.
