My Day

Hey there! Let me tell you all about my typical day. It's a pretty wild ride from start to finish, let me tell you. Buckle up and get ready for all the deets!

First things first, my dreaded morning alarm goes off at the ungodly hour of 6:30 AM. I know, I know...way too early for a growing kid like me. But rules are rules I guess. I groggily roll out of my cozy bed, my hair sticking out in every direction. Mornings are definitely not my thing.

After splashing some water on my face to try and wake up, I stumble into the kitchen. The smells of my mom's cooking instantly perk me up though. Pancakes, eggs, bacon...the works! I scarf down as much as I can before my dad hollers that it's time to get a move on.

The morning rush is total chaos as my siblings and I scramble to brush teeth, get dressed, and gather up our school stuff. I swear socks and homework assignments just disappear into thin air sometimes. Despite the craziness, we always make it out the door before the final warning bell rings at school.

The first few classes of the day are pretty boring to be honest. I'm never fully awake until sometime around second period. No matter how hard I try to focus, my mind keeps wandering. Lunchtime can't come soon enough!

The cafeteria is absolute pandemonium from the moment I step inside. Kids are shouting, laughing, and tossing food at each other (so gross!). I do my best to avoid the chaos and find a somewhat sane spot to eat my lunch. Sandwich, apple, chips, and a Cookie - the perfect midday fuel.

Recess after lunch is definitely the best part of the school day in my opinion. I get to burn off all my pent-up energy from sitting in class all morning. Whether it's shooting hoops, playing tag, or just running around like a crazy person, I live for that little bit of free time.

Unfortunately, recess has to end eventually and it's back to the grind for a few more hours of learning. I'll admit, some of my afternoon classes like art and computer lab aren't too bad. But others...well let's just say I've mastered the art of looking like I'm paying attention when my mind has already checked out. Finally, the last bell of the day rings and I'm free! That beautiful, beautiful final bell. I meet up with my friends and we take our time walking home, dreading having to start our

homework soon. We goof off, tell stupid jokes, and just generally act like the kids we are.

Once I get home, I try my best to focus and power through my homework. Emphasis on the word \"try\". I'll do a few problems before getting distracted by my phone or some other random thing. Eventually my mom has to step in and lay down the law so I can get it all done before dinner.

After some more family chaos during dinner (when is it not chaos with my family?), I'm pretty much off the hook for the rest of the night. That means hours of video games, iPad time, watching TV shows...whatever I want really! Every now and then I have to pause the fun to finish up any last little bits of homework. But for the most part, evenings are my time.

Around 9:30 or so, I start getting ready for bed. I take a shower, brush my teeth, get my sleep clothes on, and do my nightly routine. By the time my head hits the pillow, I'm completely exhausted from another busy day of middle school life.

As crazy as it sounds, I actually kind of love the chaos and unpredictable nature of each day. Sure, there are times when I'm stressed out or beyond tired. But I wouldn't have it any other way. This is my life right now and I'm just trying to enjoy every minute

of it, good or bad! Thankful for family, friends, and a million little daily adventures.

So there you have it, folks - a sneak peek into 24 hours of a middle schooler's life. Are you already exhausted just from reading about it? Because let me tell you, living it is no joke! But I'm just getting started on this crazy ride called life. Bring it on, world!
