摘要：The disclosure is of a catheter assembly 10 including a hollow T-shapedmember 24 having a patient end 32 and a rear end 34 which is blocked from the patientend by a wall. A catheter is adapted to be introduced through the rear end of themember into a patient and the rear end includes a sponge 36, located out of the airway
of the patient by the wall but the wall includes means 38 for opening the wall to let thecatheter through it for introduction into the patient. The sponge cleans the catheter as itis withdrawn but mucus cannot be returned to the airway to the patient.
